Introduction to Giddy

Jamie Wyld from the Nimbus Group kickstarted things today with an introduction to the Giddy Project. Annis worked with the group to explore the theme of Giddy and to find out what they new about archives, oral history and how they already engage with place related apps/technology.

They also thought about and mapped their own important locations in Brighton and Hove

About Giddy

Giddyness will map the process of the project Giddy as Year 10 pupils from Longhill School, work with artist educator Annis Joslin to research material and collect the hidden, unusual and giddy oral histories of people who were teenagers themselves in the 40's 50's and 60's in Brighton and Hove.

Giddy is a project led by young people (from Longhill High School) to develop a two-part digital project, including an interactive map that leads people across the city of Brighton & Hove, listening to memories in the place they were made (via geolocation); and a website that will store oral histories, images and film, and enable people to remotely engage with the project.

Giddy is a Nimbus Group project

Partners include The Keep, Screen Archive South East,  Royal Pavilion and Museums Brighton and Hove and the project is supported by Brighton Festival.
